A New Year's Note from Patti:

The past few months have been stressful enough without putting the additional self-imposed New Years Resolutions in place.
Sheesh - how many times have we done it: Lose weight, work out, be better organized . . . time limits, goals, expectations, pressure! I'm a big believer in setting goals and don't think you can go far without some sort of plan . . .but as time goes by and I gain more maturity, I better understand the need for a break and a reward.
Resolutions can be good - but make them reasonable and balance them with a little kindness and consideration for yourself. We work hard and we MUST take care of ourselves first or we won't be any good to anyone. When I'm feeling especially stressed or just plain worn down, the absolute best thing I can do is go in for a facial or massage. Really. The time spent in the quiet room, the focus just on me with no interruptions, caring hands performing their magic on ME - my mind can rest, and my body recharges. I emerge fully relaxed and refreshed - and in a much better mental state to take on any challenges. And, no doubt, there will be some.
Whether I plan a visit for just myself, or plan to meet a few friends and visit with them before or after our appointments, the end result is wonderful. So what is my New Year Resolution? To better recognize and appreciate my limits and take a break and reward myself as often as possible.

WHY SPA? Stress relief is very important!
In our world of non-stop communication, increasing career and family demands, economic uncertainty and escalating demands for time, finding ways to balance our "life load" can be challenging. It's no wonder the rates of disease and illness are at all time highs. According to the American Medical Association, stress is a factor in more than 75 percent of illnesses today.
Making sure you take time out to revitalize and take care of yourself is important and should be a priority in every persons life. How you do that is up to you. Spa is just one good way.
